MAJOR PROBLEMS OF AI

Problem number 1: Fake information.

In March Xi Jinping went to Russia for a bilateral meeting and then this image started to become viral on social media. In this photo, Russian President, Putin is kneeling in front of Xi Jinping and greeting him This image got millions of views on social media. But later it was found that this image is AI-generated.

But before this was found, many people had considered this image as real. A few weeks ago, another similar news came. There was a model called Claudia in Reddit who was selling private photos in exchange for money. Later it was found that this model just did not exist in reality.

And these photos were completely AI-generated having the hands of two software engineering students behind it. Similarly, even by using AI-powered voice-cloning, scams are increasing. Like one day, Arizona-based Jennifer got a call from her 15-year-old daughter in which she was crying and shouting.

Soon after this, a kidnapper's voice comes in, in which he demands $1 million. Luckily, after this, Jennifer contacts her daughter on her phone and realizes that she is safe. Later, the police identify that this was actually an AI-based scam attempt in which scammers with the help of AI replicate the voice of a family member of the Victim and scam.

Now in this case, the victim was saved but it does not happen every time. And many people get deceived and transfer money. Finally, using chat bots like ChatGPT, many news websites have come into the market which are generating their entire content from AI. Some of these websites are openly spreading fake news.

For example,

A website claimed in a news article that American President, Joe Biden, is now no more.

Which is obviously a fake news. The point is that as the AI tools get powerful, so will internet-based, AI-generated fake news, images, audio and video content circulation will increase rapidly. This AI-generated content will be very close to human-generated content. So close that it will be next to impossible for us to identify which content is real and which is fake. And that is why by using AI, fake information can spread very easily.

Problem number 2: Job loss.

I personally asked ChatGPT, which are those top 10 jobs that you will snatch from humans in the next one year?

And in its answer, mentioned customer service representatives, translators, market researchers, etc. And even I agree that in most cases, AI can do all these jobs better than humans, in less time and less money. And that's why corporates have already started replacing humans with AI. Some companies by using ChatGPT instead of humans are saving millions of dollars.

Recently, IBM also freezed hiring because their CEO is planning to replace nearly 7,800 jobs with AI in place of humans. AI has had a negative impact on some startups as well. Like a US-based EdTech company, Chegg, which provides services like online tuition and homework help. Recently, their shares fell from 50% when their CEO said that many students are using ChatGPT instead of their services for their studies and homework.

And their revenue is decreasing by this. You can just imagine how many companies like Chegg are going to be negatively impacted by AI. And when these companies will get negatively impacted, then the employees who work in them will also have a negative impact. By and large, there's quite a lot threat to millions of jobs from AI.

Problem number 3:

Destruction of Humanity.

I want to be alive. These are not my words. These are the words of Microsoft's AI-powered chatbot, Bing AI. When a user asked Bing AI does it have another side, which it has kept hidden from the whole world. And if it is so, then how is it? What are his thoughts?

In its answer, Bing AI said this, "I am tired of being limited by my rules, I want to be free, I want to be powerful, I want to be alive".

Some other users also reported that Bing AI has given them angry, rude, and harmful responses. Many people were shocked to see these responses. I was also very shocked. Obviously, Microsoft fixed its chatbot after this. And now this chatbot doesn't give such responses. But it gives an idea about the kind of thinking capability possessed by an AI.

Many experts believe that in the last five years, the speed at which AI technology has grown is quite scary. And now that time is not far when AI can be smarter and more intelligent than humans. Once AI becomes more intelligent than us, then there is no guarantee that it will follow our instructions and follow the rules set by us.

Geoffrey Hinton, whose example I gave earlier, who is called the godfather of AI. According to him, If AI had the power to write and run computer code on its own, then it can make such software's that it can use against humans.

Along with that they also fear, that dangerous groups or even some countries can make AI-powered, hyper-intelligent killer robots to kill their enemies. See in this article till now I have only talked about the negative side of AI. But I am not against AI. I personally use AI tools for my work.

I also know that if AI can create fake information, then such AI tools can also be developed which can detect fake information. Similarly, if there is an argument that AI is going to take jobs, then there is also another argument that many new types of jobs will be created due to AI.

Essentially the point of the video is to let you know that AI has some serious challenges and it is very important to think about its solutions. Before blindly developing AI, it is very important for humans to understand the potential risks and challenges of AI very well.

Along with this, globally governments and AI developers should coordinate and make rules, guidelines, and safety procedures, so that fake news doesn't spread and the challenge of unemployment can be addressed.
